I have been recruiting in manufacturing with a concentration in plastics and metals since 1996. After graduating with a BBA from Western Michigan University, I started a sales career with a major high-end office equipment company. After a few years, I found a better career match in the recruitment industry and spent my first five years recruiting with another MRI firm. In 2001, I started Management Recruiters of Ottawa County. I am the President of the company and work a desk.
One of my approaches to recruitment is to actively listen. My candidates are not simply a product of a transaction. My work is someone’s career. I do not believe in hard-selling. If I have to push, it is probably not a fit. To my clients, I am a great deal more than someone who sends resumes. My goal is to establish and maintain long-term partnerships. Our relationships are strong because we get to know more than just a job description or resume. Putting the partnership before the placement allows me to focus on what is in the best interest of those I represent and less about making the placement.
